I have realized that most, if not all, successful small businesses have some sort of Blog going on.
So I have returned.
There is alot to get you updated on, so please have patience with me. Even though my blog has been around for sometime, I am quite rusty at this.

Recipes
Have you ever tried a recipe, be it from a book or from a friend, that just didn't come out how you expected?
I have....many.
My new fix for these edible disasters is to REBAKE them.
I recently had this experience with a cake recipe that just would NOT bake. It stayed liquid in the middle and crisp on the edges.
I took it out of the oven and stirred it in a bowl and added more flour. Then I decided to EXPERIMENT more and added both dark and white chocolate chips along with toffee bits.
Needless to say the cake, which I then turned into cupcakes, came out AMAZING.
So please, when baking, don't get discouraged. You can always try something new and you never know what will come out.

Baked goods.
Well As Precious Delights is growing so are my ventures.
I have recently taken up beading and baking.
I have surprised myself, not that I didn't believe I could do it, with the end results.
Baking has become the main focus for Precious Delights and I am proud to say the orders are coming in.
I recently received an order for GLUTEN-FREE cupcakes.
Now, I'm not gonna front. I have made Gf stuff before, but just for a friend. The recipe requires way more ingredients and patience that my regular one.
My main worry was contamination with wheat products. So I bought new baking tools to avoid any mishaps.
It turns out everything went ok. The cupcakes came out GREAT!
Glad to know I made a bunch of nine year old girls happy.

"SHOP FOR HOPE"
I am so pleased to announce that we have finalized the venue for the MONTREAL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL FUNDRAISER.
It is to held at the:
QUALITY SUITES in Pointe-Claire
on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 26th 2009 from 11am to 4pm.
FREE to enter.
There is a raffle for some great prizes...value ranging from $35 to OVER $200.
Tickets are 1 for $3 or 3 for $7.
We are praying for a good turnout since our minimum goal is $2000.
It's for a TERRIFIC cause and would appreciate you coming.
Bring a friend or 2.
Vendors will be selling great items like handmade soap, candles, jewelry, Avon, pashminas, diaper cakes, baked goods and much more.
See you there.

MONTREAL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL FUNDRAISER
At the end of September 2009, PRECIOUS DELIGHTS will be hosting a fundraiser for the Montreal Children's Hospital.
The MCH has been a great source of comfort for many families, including ours.
We feel it is only right for us to repay them for their kindness and excellent.
Currently a venue has not been established, due to the great response, it has gone from just renting a small room in a community center to, HOPEFULLY, getting space in a mall or YMCA.
WHAT IS NEEDED?
Vendors and Traffic.
Vendors don't seem to be a problem...Traffic could be (that is why a Mall is our best bet)
If you are at all interested in participating, please contact me.
I am also looking for locations to post posters. If you will allow us to do so, then once everything is finalize, I will bring posters.
